Let me first define the word "Medium" as used in the metaphysical world. 

Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines it as "A go-between intermediary, plural mediumsan     individual held to be a channel of communication between the earthly world and a world of spirits."

We are also referred to as "Channels"

Merrium-Webster Dictionary defines it as "A path along which information (as data or music) in the form of an electrical signal passes. Plurala fixed or official course of communication. "  In this instance the path is between the spirit world the earthly world, with the energy force coming from the ability of the "Channeler" to perceive the energy of the spirit.

I grew up in a religious household and regarded all heavenly things in a reverent way.  Many years ago, I was attacked for being a medium by a person I will refer to as a Bible Thumper.  This question as to whether the spirit is heavenly or a disguised evil figure is a question that many people ask.  I was driving home after this confrontation and my guides whispered to me that the last visitation of Jesus mentioned in the Bible was when He appeared to His disciples in spirit form before He rose.  He came to show the existence of life after death.  I understood, then that the service I perform is the same thing - to show the existence of life beyond death.  I have never felt more Blessed.

Mediums are often psychics in the general sense, as well.  Many times, the spirit will give me information as to the course their earthly loved ones should take, etc.  I also have guides who will impress on me bits of information for the person for whom I am doing a reading.  

Mediums are people who have a special gift that allows the spirit people to give messages from the afterlife.  The objective of a medium's work is to prove survival of the human personality after death and to help the bereaved come to terms with their loss. Sittings with mediums are not for fortune telling  but are experimental sessions to provide evidence of survival. Any attempt to communicate with Spirit is, by its very nature, purely experimental; and therefore, results can never be guaranteed.  In my case, I do not charge unless a connection IS made (except if I have to travel - my expenses will need to be reimbursed).
